Beautification
Our blend of street-level maintenance, dedicated tree care, and beautification initiatives provides Carnegie Hill with the extra attention it deserves—going above and beyond what the city offers.

Park Avenue Mall Maintenance
About
For years, the Park Avenue malls were overlooked—grass worn down and frequently misused by dog walkers. In 1980, a decade after its founding, Carnegie Hill Neighbors took the lead on a major revitalization effort.
Since then, CHN continues to maintain the malls from 86th to 97th Street, tending to the lawns and flower beds with regular watering, weeding, soil conditioning, and repairs to signage and railings. We also coordinate seasonal plantings—tulips in the spring, begonias in the summer—bringing color and life to the avenue throughout the year.
At the northern tip, just before the Metro North tracks, a small park at 97th Street marks the final stretch. Though modest in size, this garden reflects CHN’s enduring commitment to keeping Carnegie Hill green, beautiful, and well cared for.
This transformation has only been possible thanks to the continued support of the buildings that line the avenue.

We invite co-ops, condos, and other Park Avenue neighbors to join our Park Avenue Mall Program and help beautify and preserve one of New York City’s most iconic corridors through this “conservancy-style” initiative.
Your participation helps ensure regular watering, weeding, trash pickup, railing repairs, and the year-round care that keeps this iconic stretch looking its best—from the garden at 97th Street to the southern end at 86th.

About
Carnegie Hill Neighbors offers a proactive Graffiti Removal Program that targets graffiti on mailboxes, lampposts, utility poles, and other streetscape elements surrounding your building.
Enroll Your Building
Building participation helps keep the public areas around your property clean, welcoming, and true to the character of our neighborhood.
