Corporate Matching

Many companies offer matching gift programs that can double—or even triple—your donation. Check with your HR representative to see if your employer participates. It’s an easy way to increase your impact without giving twice!

Gifts of Stock and Appreciated Securities

Donating stock or other securities is a great way to support Carnegie Hill Neighbors without using cash - often with added tax benefits. When you transfer appreciated securities directly to CHN, you may avoid capital gains taxes and potentially receive an immediate income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the gift.

Donor Advised Funds (DAF)

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a simple, tax-smart way to support the causes you care about. Think of it like a charitable savings account: you contribute when it makes sense for your taxes, then recommend grants to nonprofits like Carnegie Hill Neighbors over time.

If you have a donor advised fund, DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to Carnegie Hill Neighbors directly from your DAF.

Donate through DAF Direct here.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions

A gift from your IRA can help you save on taxes—and help preserve the neighborhood you love. By making a contribution directly from your IRA to Carnegie Hill Neighbors, you can support programs that protect our community’s character, beauty, and safety—while potentially lowering your taxable income.

When you are 70½ years old or older, you are eligible to make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) directly from your taxable IRA account to a tax-exempt charity like Carnegie Hill Neighbors up to $108,000 annually.

If you are 73 years old or older, the IRS generally requires a withdrawal from a traditional IRA each year, called a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). If you transfer all or part of your RMD directly from your IRA to a qualified charity like Carnegie Hill Neighbors, the amount that is transferred to CHN may not be considered taxable income.
